This position is for OPIS maintenance and enhancement. It is critical to the success of this complex project. They will be an integral part of the effort to maintain, migrate data, enhance the current Customer OPIS system. The Application Architect will be responsible for directly leading the Application Developers with bug fixes and application enhancements. You will very closely interface with client, project team members, and project leadership to be a key part of both upwards and downwards communication path. It is crucial that they have experience in technical and strategic communications at all customer levels.
In conjunction with the technical lead, analyst team, and architectural team, you will coordinate the technical roadmap with the Customer’s ongoing technical roadmap is critical to long-term project success. You will also be responsible for continuation and stewardship of the core architect deliverables to be utilized and presented to the client. This includes addressing key security concerns, maintaining optimum performance, generating performance metrics, and ensuring high-quality, secure code.
This role is mixed remote within CONUS. The PoP will be primarily in contractor-provided facilities with the expectation of regular meetings at Government facilities in the National Capital Region.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Generate, review, and maintain architectural documents and other technical artefacts for both driving development efforts and application maintenance
- Maintain compliance with all security, testing, quality, and governance requirements necessary for the environment and nature of the future deployment
- Coordinate with analytics, architecture, security, and testing teams to generate and track agile features and user stories
Requirements
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- CompTIA Security+ certification, CompTIA A+ certification
- 10+ years of professional experience as a Application Architect
- 8+ years working with public sector/federal contracts and projects (US Federal, Higher Education, State and Local Governments)
- 5+ years of professional experience as a technical team lead
- 5+ years working in an AWS or other cloud environment
- Strong Java and C# Skills
- Familiarity with Spring Boot and Angular frameworks
- Strong experience with APIs and Web Services, including REST APIs and interface bus solutions (e.g. Mulesoft)
- Experience with multi-tier (app layer, integration/abstraction layer, data layer) application architectures
- Experience with SAFe Agile software delivery methodology
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex, technical information in an understandable manner
- Ability to logically troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and present suggested solutions clearly and concisely
- Ability to handle competing priorities flexibly and address each in an effective and timely manner in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to coordinate complex requirements in a fast-paced agile environment
- Familiarity with container-based micro-app/micro-service architectures
- Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines
