Systems Engineer

The Sponsor's office conducts forensic analysis of AI models on state-of-the-art computational infrastructure. The Sponsor requires systems engineering expertise with a background in Authorization and Assessment (A&A) to support continued sustainment of a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment. This high-priority requirement will support the configuration, installation, continued security compliance, as well as partner with relevant Sponsor technical and security POCs to maintain the HPC system with current ATO (Authority to Operate) status. 

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other teams, including network engineers, data scientists, and government personnel 
  • Work with the Sponsor for the execution of tasks, implementation, documentation, and configuration of a standalone HPC system
  • Work with the Sponsor to maintain A&A accreditation compliance
  • Work together with the Sponsor to create the visualization specifications for the system monitoring and system metrics
  • Create, document, and update necessary artifacts such as the Configuration Management Plan, Data Management Plan, and CONOPS
  • Advice and assist the Sponsor with development of System Security Plans
  • Monitor, track, and update status of systems in Sponsor's RMF tool
  • Coordinate technical security assessments of computing environments and systems to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Partner with relevant Sponsor technical and security POCs to maintain the HPC system with current ATO status
Requirements
  • TS/SCI FSP Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience creating and reviewing documentation related to System Security Plans, or Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation
  • Demonstrated experience with A&A processes
  • Demonstrated experience with development of System Security Plans
  • Demonstrated experience working with system architectures, including hands-on setup, configuration, and optimization of systems
Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing using REST Web services
  • Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky
  • Demonstrated experience with web application development
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, implementing, or integration IA and security systems and system components (such as those for networking, virtualization, cloud, and enclave environments to include those with differing data protection requirements)
  • Demonstrated experience using Java and Oracle PL/SQL languages
  • Demonstrated experience developing interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools
  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor A&A processes
  • Demonstrated experience working with the Sponsor system architecture, including hands-on setup, configuration, and optimization of the system
  • Cloud certification(s)
